Stuffed Crust Chorizo Pizza
Updated: Feb 12, 2021
Have a hankering for a slightly spicy pizza? A little on the sausage side? Try my new stuffed crust chorizo pizza.
Ingredients:
2 rounds, Dough
6 String Cheese
1 lbs. Chorizo, cooked
Pepperoni's
1/2 cup Black Olives
1/2 cup Green Olives
1/2 cup Banana Peppers
1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
4 oz. Mozzarella Cheese
Pizza Sauce
Instructions:
Create your dough, whether it's homemade or from a package. In this recipe, I use packet dough, where I added water, oil, and oregano to create my dough. Then I mixed thoroughly and set to side for 20 minutes to rise. (I kept the two packets of dough separate. One for the base of the pizza and the other for the crust.)
Preheat oven 375*
Take one ball of dough and spread out onto your pizza pan. Take the other ball of dough and roll out into a long, thin line. Take your string cheese and place into the center of the lined dough. Placing them side by side down the dough. Take the dough and cover the cheese. Take the cheese wrapped dough and curve it around the pizza base crust. Be sure to place the seam down onto the pizza crust to insure cheese leakage will go into the pizza and not your oven.
Cover the bottom of the crust with your pizza dough. Place the cooked Chorizo on top of the sauce. Add your pepperoni's and parmesan cheese. Top with the black and green olives, banana peppers, and mozzarella cheese. Cook for 20 - 25 minutes or until crust and cheese is golden brown.
